How to Generate Leads By Marketing With Video

Did you know that YouTube is the world’s 2nd largest search engine, which is owned by Google? However, the fact is that video marketing is still in it’s infancy. There are about 20 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute so it can be very competitive. However, in order to make your presence and get found and then get shared, which is really the success formula, you need to optimize your videos and involve yourself with the community. By networking with other You tubers and building relationships with them will encourage them to share your video with their networks because of the value that you offered in your video.

Bottom line is, one of the most important trends in search is YouTube. So the importance of social media and marketing with video are critical to your success on the Internet. Home based business owners and Internet marketers alike would be mistaken to ignore the power of YouTube.

Unfortunately, there are many Home-based business owners that do not use it because of lack of knowledge and lack of confidence in front of the camera. I know from experience when I started marketing with video that it’s only natural to be shy and hard to find the right words to convey to your target market.  In this article, I will go over a few techniques that I’ve used to overcome all of the obstacles that may arise.

Now, let’s get into the basics of what it takes to create effective videos, no matter if you are marketing on YouTube, Viddler, Vimeo, Google, or any of the other video sharing websites.

The first thing you will need is a video camera. When choosing the perfect camera, be sure it’s a camera that is small, yet has quality picture and sound. I personally recommend the FLIP video. It’s light weight, very easy to use and uploads to YouTube directly from the camera once plugged into your computer.

When you first begin marketing with video, you should never blatantly promote your product or service. Instead, you should be providing value, information and/or training. When people see you as an expert in a certain area or industry, they tend to value your recommendations and will most likely buy from you when they are ready. Focusing on building trust and relationships is key and an important step you should take when marketing with video.

To get ideas on what to talk about in your video, do a Google search on a particular topic in your industry. For example, let’s say you promote a business opportunity that offers Internet Marketing training. There are several topics in the Internet Marketing industry. So, let’s assume that you wanted to make a video about SEO. You can simply go to Google and do a search on SEO, then read articles that others have posted about this topic and then write down the points that you want to cover in your video. Talk to the camera as if you were talking to a friend. Remember, people are attracted to REAL people. So, try to be as natural as possible.

Once you have completed your video, you may want to run it through a video editor such as Camstudio (which costs about $300 bucks) or you can use One True Media which is FREE to join but also has a premium membership which offers more options at a low costs of $3.99 a month. The reason why you want to edit your video and not just upload directly to the video sharing websites is because you want to make sure that your website URL and contact information is displayed on your video. In addition, always be sure to give a call to action by asking your viewers to subscribe to your channel and to rate and comment as well. When saving your video, be sure to give it the same name as your title, which should include your keyword or keyword phrase. This will give you great ranking. (We will talk more about this in just a few moments…keep reading).

Once you’ve finished editing your video, it’s now time to upload it. I would highly recommend using either Traffic Geyser ($99/month) or Tubemogul (Free) – (Note: the results that you get from using Traffic Geyser is worth the expense). Doing so will allow you to instantly upload your videos to the video sharing websites all at one time along with many other perks that they have. However, you will have to go to the video sharing websites to create an account first. This may be time consuming, but once that tedious part is done, you never have to worry about it again.

While your video is uploading, you will have to fill in your title, description and tags. This is the most important part because this is where you are going to optimize your video. But, first it is a must that you do keyword research. You can use Wordtracker Keyword Tool which is free to use. Or you can use Microniche Finder, which is the tool that I use and it is very good.

If you are going to use the free Wordtracker Keyword Tool, simply enter a word and hit the search button. The number to the left of the word indicates the amount of searches made on that particular keyword on a daily basis. You want to make sure that it’s no lower than 40. Then you want to copy and paste that keyword or keyword phrase into Google to see the results. When doing so, be sure to put the keyword or keyword phrase inside quotation marks. By doing so, you are telling Google to look for other websites that have been optimized for that particular keyword or keyword phrase. Be sure that the Google results are under 50,000. Anything over that will be very competitive and will take longer for you to appear on the the first or second page of the organic side (left side) of Google. Again, I would highly recommend that you invest $77 (one time) for the Micronich Finder.

Now that you have the keyword that you are going to use for your video, make a title for the video with the keywords in it. For example, the title of this article and the title of the video that I created to promote this article is “How to Generate Leads By Marketing with Video“. My keyword is “marketing with video“. Using titles that start with “How To” or “Tips” is a great way to catch attention because people want to learn “how to” do certain things. Think about it….isn’t that what attracted you to read this article? (smile).

You also want to add the keyword in the description and in the tags. Whatever your video is about, make sure you give as much detail and use the keyword in the description a few times as well. Also, be sure to include your website link (including http://) at the top in the description so that you can drive traffic back to your website. Doing so will potentially get you some targeted leads. Google has a way of reading tags and keywords, so be sure to include your keyword using these variations: (in this example, I will use the word “keyword” as my keyword)…

{Keyword}  [Keyword]  (Keyword)  “Keyword”

Using these simple techniques will rank your video very well in the search engines for the keyword that you optimized the video for.

Now that you have your video on various video sharing websites, you can now take the link to the YouTube video and start driving traffic to it by posting it on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Social Bookmarking sites, etc. Post it anywhere and everywhere that you can possibly think of which will result in lots of views, comments and ratings as well as targeted qualified leads to your website.

Is your website targeting a niche market?

Whether you are following the advice of top Internet Marketers or if you just happened to have a business that caters to a very specific target audience, you must be able to find them, and they must be able to find YOU.

One of the joys of niche marketing is the luxury of tapping into a favorite hobby, occupation or expertise and building a business around it.

If you are expanding an existing off-line business by setting up a webpage you may find your most valuable contacts right in your store. Make some brochures or cards that announce your online presence, or ask customers if they’d like to sign up for your online newsletter.

Now you can contact your customers about new products, industry news or specials with no postage costs or time consuming envelope stuffing.

Invite your subscribers to recommend the site to friends who are interested in the topic. Even better, have a place on your website to ‘tell a friend’. Your visitor will enter their own email address and name as the sender of the message to avoid spam complaints. Warning – do not start emailing the invitee unless they sign up personally for your newsletter.

Niche sites will really benefit from a newsletter. Create a small free gift, such as a special report or how-to manual that they will receive with their subscription. By providing valuable information related to your topic you will gain the trust of subscribers. By contacting them at least several times a year – up to once a week if possible – they will always be reminded of your website when looking for information or products in your niche.

Create a website that has informative content. Incorporate the keywords (words or phrases visitors type into their search engines) into the content to improve your place in the search engines.

Write articles that will set you up as an ‘industry expert’. If you don’t feel capable of writing them yourself you can hire a ghostwriter. End the article with your name, a comment about your business and a link to your website. Submit your article to relevant websites or ask if website owners would like to use your contribution. Be sure they agree to keep your name and website link intact.

You may find discussion groups that cater to your market. Involve yourself in their conversations and attach a signature with your website address if the policies permit. Do not advertise on these groups, however you may be able to offer your free item when the situation allows.

Try to determine where your market is. Are they parents? Retirees? Home owners? Pet lovers? If you are selling art supplies you may find hobby sites will cater to your audience. If you sell information for do-it-yourself projects you should show up in home decorating as well as financial sites (‘Save Money on Home Building Projects!’ for example).

Always look for new opportunities and offer your best, the rest will follow!

Popular Niche Marketing Misconceptions

Specializing in Niche Markets has never been as crucial as it is today. Long gone are the days when you can target general, broad markets and make money from them.

To make money in today’s Internet Marketing environment, one must specialize in well defined niche topics.

Lets examine a few misconceptions when it comes to niche marketing.

Misconception #1: You do not have to be an expert in the Niche field you choose!

Everyone says you should only choose a Niche that you are an expert in…nonsense!

The Internet is so impersonal that you can easily appear as an expert and not know anything about that particular niche topic. The key is to appear as an expert. How? You can outsource, build niche sites with no interaction such as blogs, buy resale rights to an ebook in a particular niche. You see, you can choose to profit from any niche you like.

Misconception #2: Choose one niche market and stick with it.

Not right ! Once you establish yourself in one niche and develop a profitable system, choose another one and run with it. You can even choose a pen name if you like, it’s common practice to do so.

Niche marketing is a numbers game. Once you find a profitable niche place it on auto-pilot and choose another niche market to get into.

Misconception #3: The best way to make money in the niche game is to promote niche products as an affiliate.

Incorrect again! Sure, becoming an affiliate and promoting niche products can be very profitable, but if you are doing this, you’re not maximizing your income.

You need to promote your own landing or squeeze page where you collect the e-mail address of the visitor, and then sending him or her to the niche product you are promoting. You should also send out an e-mail course with informative information pertaining to that particular niche market to gain the visitors trust. Since your subscriber now trusts you, you can recommend products in that niche again and again, knowing your recommendation holds a lot of weight.

Those are three well loved misconceptions when it comes to niche marketing. Follow the tips above, and you will be more likely to succeed. Remember, it is vital to find a profitable niche, set it up so it is on auto-pilot, then go on to the next niche.

Not all niche markets will be a slam dunk, so don’t get discouraged.

Even if one out of ten become really profitable, sit down and smile, you’ve hit the jackpot.

What is Niche Marketing?

Niche marketing means different things to different people. Commonly it is known to mean the creation of websites in sub mainstream market segments or niches to profit from selling products, generating advertising revenue or other forms of website monetization.

Niche marketing is very effective because it allows you to operate in markets that are less competitive which means you have the potential as a new or seasoned marketer to capitalize on big opportunities with relative ease and far less cost.

Particularly for new marketers, niche marketing can be the best way to start in internet marketing because it allows you to compete on a level playing field. You don’t have to go head to head with the heavy weights, you can develop your skills before moving into the tougher areas of competition.

If you pick the right niche you can build your site, extablish yourself as an expert, sell your own products, recommend other people’s products, the opportunities can be endless and good money can easily be made.

The trouble is that as niche marketing grows in popularity, many of the markets we called niche markets are now not really niches at all, they’re almost as competitive as mainstream markets in terms of their difficulty to profit from.

The markets that spring to mind are things like acne, dog training, or anxiety. Markets like these, while they can still be profitable will not make the average web marketer alot of money at all. Even the more nichey versions, acne treatments, dog training videos or anxiety relief are difficult for most people to compete in and make money.

Then there’s the other extreme. You can go to the tiny tiny niches that get almost no search volume. You can find “long tail” keywords like ‘pug training schools in atlanta” or “acne treatments that work in 2 days”. The problem with these are, 1. that they often don’t get enough traffic and 2. they are so specific that even if you can drive traffic, there isn’t much you can do to serve those people except show them ads. The advantage of a small niche is when someone does search for that strange and uniques keyword, they are usually ready to buy!

The niche marketers that really make the most money are those that know how to find the perfect balance between competition and search volume. Not only that but they know how to analyze the nature of a niche market to determine how much potential it really has before they enter it. By doing this they find markets that can make them big money very quickly, faster than most people think possible. Then when they do find markets they know how to make sites that will capitalize on them as effectively and efficiently as soon as possible. The result? Big profits, easily, and quickly.

There is no doubt that niche marketing although often a tricky game, can be wildly profitable when done right.  In future posts we will be discussing ideas, techniques, and tools that are utilized in niche marketing.
